The insurance contributions made by the district are specified in the collective bargaining agreements and in the employee handbooks. The district also has a salary reduction plan to allow employees to pay their insurance contributions on a pre-tax basis.

All district employees are covered by the Workers’ Compensation Act and by unemployment insurance with premiums paid by the district.

The insurance plan carriers, types of plans, district contributions, and level of benefits must be approved by the board of directors.
