Exciting News! 🎶🎺
Jazz musicians from New York City are coming to Burlington from March 3-5! The BHS Jazz Band will take the stage with them on Wednesday, March 5, at 7 PM at the Capitol Theater.
Leading up to the concert, students will have the opportunity to work with these talented musicians in rehearsals and workshops. This is a fantastic experience for our students, and we hope to see you at the concert!

Wow, sorry for the lack of updates—I guess this should’ve been my New Year’s resolution! Things have been busy in the band department lately.
First off, HUGE congratulations to the following students on their amazing achievements:

Students in SEIBA and the University of Iowa Honor Bands already have their information sheets. I’ll share more details for the WIU Honor Band through ParentSquare in the coming days. Feel free to reach out if you have questions!
🎷 State Jazz Band is at Davenport Central HS next Saturday (Feb. 1)! Jazz Band members, plan to be at BHS by 6:45 AM to load the bus. The band performs at 9:40 AM—don’t miss it!
🎟️ Admission is $12 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students.

I hope you’ve all had a restful and rejuvenating vacation. As we gear up for 2025, here are a few important reminders:
🎷 Rehearsals Resume
We’ll have jazz band rehearsal when we return to school on Monday. Make sure to bring your A-game!
🎼 Chair Auditions Begin
Chair auditions will kick off as soon as we’re back. Hopefully, you’ve found some time to practice and polish your etudes over the break.
🐔 Performance Alert: Chick-Fil-A
On Wednesday, January 15th, we’ll be performing at Chik-Fil-A at 10:00 AM! We’ll perform a few of our halftime selections and perform the National Anthem. Bonus: there’s food involved! 🎶🍴
