Organization and Administration

Burlington Community Schools are members of the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union. The purpose of these organizations is to promote, develop, direct, protect, and regulate amateur interscholastic athletic relationships between member schools and to stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry, and good sportsmanship among contestants, schools, and communities throughout the state.

Southeast Conference

Burlington is a member of the Southeast Conference. The Southeast Conference includes Burlington, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Mount Pleasant, and Washington High Schools.

The management of this conference is handled by the athletic directors, with final responsibility and authority vested in the Board of Control, consisting of principals of the member schools.
