Professional leaves of absence may be granted to employees to participate in a conference, convention, or workshop, to visit other programs, or for other similar reasons as approved by the superintendent. The superintendent shall have discretion on whether to grant the leave with or without pay, and with or without reimbursement for registration, lodging, meals, and/or travel expenses.
