All persons utilizing school transportation will conduct themselves in an orderly manner fitting to their age level and maturity with mutual respect and consideration for the rights of school vehicle driver and the other passengers.
The school vehicle driver will have the authority to maintain order on the school vehicle. It is the responsibility of the driver to report misconduct to the director of transportation.
Students and employees who fail to behave in an orderly manner may be subject to disciplinary measures. Other persons who fail to behave in an orderly manner may be asked to leave the school transportation and may no longer be permitted to use school transportation. The director of transportation will have the authority to suspend transportation privileges of the student or employee or impose other appropriate discipline.
The Board authorizes the use of video cameras on school vehicles used for transportation to and from school as well as for field trips, curricular or extracurricular events, and other events. The video cameras will be sued to monitor student, employee and other rider behavior and may be used as evidence in a student or employee disciplinary proceeding or other proceeding. The video recordings will be maintained as required by state and federal law.
It is the responsibility of the superintendent, in conjunction with the director of transportation, to develop administrative regulations regarding student and employee conduct and discipline when utilizing school district transportation.
