The Board of Directors believes that class size is important for learning as are the type of instruction and the needs of the student. Efficient use of staff resources shall also be considered in organizing and scheduling classroom instruction.
Students shall attend the school building within the attendance area of residence except when class size maximum would be exceeded. A copy of the Board-designated attendance areas is on file in each of the buildings and a District map may be seen in the Administration Building.
The class size maximums targets are as follows. Maximum includes regular education and fulltime integrated students.
K-2: Maximum 24
3: Maximum 26
4-5: Maximum 28
Due to high mobility, actual enrollment numbers fluctuate daily. On a rare occasion the district reserves the right to temporarily exceed the maximum target in order to prevent bussing a primary child across town.
