From early childhood through graduation, Burlington Community School District strives to create a rich learning environment and diverse opportunities that have a profoundly positive impact on each student’s adult quality of life.
BCSD serves approximately 3,200 preschool through 12th-grade students across nine campuses — one early childhood center that houses childcare and preschool programming, four K-4 elementary buildings, one intermediate school for grades 5-6, one middle school for grades 7-8, one high school, and a K-12 hybrid virtual program.
Our buildings are second to none in Southeast Iowa. The early childhood center and each of the elementary buildings has either been built or modernized since 2000, when the district underwent its newer and fewer initiative, our intermediate and middle schools were built in 2011 and 2012, and Burlington High School is undergoing a $35 million renovation project that includes state-of-the-art science labs, a new weight room, and modernized classrooms.
